About Bao

Bao is a simple, friendly pill and medicine reminder for people who want to take their medicine on time without an account or a lot of fuss.

Add each medicine with its schedule, choose a quiet notification or a full-screen alarm, and log every dose as taken, earlier or skipped. Bao also tracks your stock so you know when to refill.

Bao is a reminder and logging tool. It does not give medical advice, so always follow what your doctor or pharmacist told you.

Notification or alarm

Get a notification at the exact minute with Taken and Snooze on it, or choose a full-screen alarm over the lock screen that keeps ringing until you answer.

Add a medicine in a minute

One simple question at a time. Bao suggests from more than 5,700 built-in medicine names in eight languages, with no internet needed.

Flexible schedules

Every day, certain weekdays, every few days, days on and days off, or as needed. Half tablets, different amounts at each time, and before, with or after food.

Today at a glance

A big card for the dose that is due now, the rest of the day, a tappable week strip and a five-second undo. A missed dose shows calmly in amber, never red.

Stock and refill messages

Keep track of how many are left and send a refill request or a note to family through WhatsApp, a text message or the share sheet.

Widgets, backup and eight languages

Six home screen widgets, backup and restore, and eight languages. You can hide medicine names on the lock screen for privacy.

Does Bao need an account or internet?

No. Bao works offline, needs no account and keeps everything on your phone.

Is Bao free?

Bao is free for up to 5 medicines, with all reminders, Today, History, stock, refill messages, backup and one widget. Bao Pro unlocks unlimited medicines, all six widgets and Stats. It is a single purchase, not a subscription, and you can restore it on a new phone.

Does Bao show ads?

No. Bao has no ads. Bao Pro is a single payment made through Google Play.

Will reminders still work after I restart my phone?

Yes. Reminders work after a restart and when your time zone changes. A Reminder check screen also shows what to fix if your phone is stopping reminders, with steps for Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and more.

Can I choose between a notification and an alarm?

Yes. You pick the reminder style for each medicine. An alarm is a full-screen reminder over the lock screen that keeps ringing until you answer.

Who is the bear in the app?

Bao is a small bear who cheers when you take your medicine and is never angry when you don't. You can turn him off any time.

Does Bao send my medicine data anywhere?

No. Your medicines and doses stay on your phone. The only thing that goes online is the Pro purchase. Read the Bao privacy policy for details.
